Thorpe Hall Primary School is 75 years old this year (2010). The school has been celebrating this landmark year with a series of events and functions running throughout 2010. The school site was once home to famous Tudor playwright, George Gascoigne who resided here with his wife Elizabeth Breton. The name, Thorpe Hall comes from the village in Yorkshire where Elizabeth came from. The area was farmland which featured a long since demolished Manor house and out buildings. Pictures and Information about our 75th anniversary are available below and over a few pages, so please scroll down and take a trip down memory lane. A big thank you to our ex pupils and parents who sent in their photos. Pictures will be updated. Please scroll down to check out old maps of the area and school too.
As part of our final 75th anniversary celebrations, we have scanned the school's Golden Jubilee Book from 1985. Please click on the PDF documents below. There is 80+ pages to get through, so we decided to break it down. Please be patient when downloading the documents. It might take a bit of time. The book is a great way of seeing Thorpe Hall's past and how things have changed. Some of you might recognise some names and faces of the time, so enjoy!
Thank you to our ex pupils and current parents and carers for attending our 75th anniversary photographic exhibition and mini bazaar held on Saturday 29th January 2011 in the school hall.
