Extra-Curricular Clubs

Clubs provide children with a fantastic opportunity to enrich and enhance their learning experiences. We offer a range of clubs, which allow children to follow their interests, or experience something for the first time.

Booking Club Places

Registering a child for a club using the Arbor app or the Parent Portal is a simple process. Please note, if it is your first time logging into the Parent Portal, you will need to confirm the child’s date of birth before being granted access.

See the guidance for more information.

Fencing

Little Musketeers is an exciting club inspired by the Olympic sport of fencing. Our engaging and varied programmes appeal to a child’s sense of play and are taught in a fun, safe and educational environment. What child has not grown up pretending to be a swashbuckling pirate, a dueling musketeer, or even the master of swordplay himself, Zorro? Why do they do it? Because it’s fun!

Classes are designed and managed by Olympian and 4 time British Champion James Beevers. All our coaches are trained personally by James and hold enhanced DBS certificates.

Little Musketeers are proud to be internationally endorsed by Olympians, educators and scientists from across the world. All equipment is either plastic or foam and gives children the real feel of fencing.

All of our sessions will be run in accordance to the school’s Covid-19 regulations. Our equipment is sanitised before and after each session and where possible, children will be designated their own mask and sword for each session. Furthermore, we feel fencing is the perfect Covid-19 sport - you wear masks and, if anyone gets too close, you lunge!

Sewing

Sewing is a great and exciting opportunity for pupils to learn a new life skill in a nurturing atmosphere. It improves abilities in a range of skills including fine motor skills, creativity and communication skills. Club members learn the art of patience and confidence as they learn how to hand sew using a ‘Running Stitch’ and some challenging creative stitches such as the ‘Blanket and Cross Stitch’. Importantly, pupils learn how to support each other, develop positive behaviours and use equipment safely. Feedback is encouraging: “ It was hard at first but I’m making progress now!” “I’m excited! I’m looking forward to making a purse and a teddy to take home.” It is rewarding to know that this provision is impactful and that pupils succeed in believing in their abilities and celebrate their achievements.
